It's great that someone was inspired by our actions!
We wish you many nests and chicks. News published by Landscape Parks of the Greater Poland Voivodeship
“Last week we finished the tedious work on erecting an anti-predator fence in the Warta Landscape Park.
This is a strategic and significant undertaking that is a milestone in the protection of birds in the Park.
We would like to thank all the people who helped build a kilometer-long fence in the meadows, often almost waist-deep in water! The action, which lasted for a week, would not have been possible without the support of volunteers (thanks to Weronika Kopa, Wiktor Kroker, JurekOrchowski and Krzysztof Kaźmierski) and the local community, mainly in the form of hunters from the Gęgawa Hunting Club.
It is worth emphasizing that the success of the project does not depend on the construction of the fence itself. Now the most important thing will be to maintain a constant voltage level in the fence and regularly check the tightness of the installation. For this purpose, it is necessary to meticulously monitor the fence. During the study visit to Podlasie, we learned that it is important to check the fence every other day... So we have a lot of work ahead of us!
Our activities were modeled on the anti-predator fence built by PTOP as part of the project "Protection of waders through grazing and construction of small retention facilities in the Natura 2000 SPA area Puszcza Knyszyńska and the Upper Narew Valley", which benefits from funding worth PLN 3,500,000.00 received from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway under the EO funds.
