We marked the route for the new anti-predator fence in Trześcianka.
This is how our work looks now, and this is how our area looks like.
In November, we marked the route for the new anti-predator fence on the meadows in Trześcianka.
The company that was selected in the tender supplied us with gravel and earth to backfill the bumps.
In December, after a brief bout of winter, we dismantled the old wooden posts – we will now use posts made of recycled plastic. The new fence should last at least 10 years.
The secured area will cover more than 60ha. We hope for successful breeding of waders: lapwings, redshanks and godwits.
This year, pintails also nested here, but they failed to raise a brood due to mammals that practically plundered the nests of almost all birds. The area of the Narew Valley has enormous potential.
